Why I'm Qualified To Be Mayor of Locust Grove
I am Carlos Greer, and it is with great honor that I and running for Mayor of Locust Grove, GA. For over 30 years, I have proudly called this city my home, dedicating myself to serving the remarkable individuals who contribute to our vibrant community. My journey began in Locust Grove, where I grew up, raised my family, and established my career. As a devoted father of two beautiful daughters and a husband of over 16 years, I have always valued the principles of community, hard work, and integrity.
For the past nine years, I have had the privilege of serving as a City Councilman, including six years as Mayor Pro Tem During this time I have worked diligently to improve our city, and I take pride in the progress we have achieved together. However, I believe there is still much more we can accomplish.
As your Mayor, I will continue to prioritize our community, focusing on enhancing infrastructure, placing the public's needs first, and improving the quality of life for all residents. My goal is to ensure every individual in Locust Grove has the opportunity to thrive, and that our city remains a safe, vibrant, and welcoming environment.
I am not merely seeking the position of Mayor; I aspire to be a leader who listens, takes action, and fosters unity. I am running because I believe in Locust Grove's potential, and I am confident that through collaboration, we can build a brighter future for everyone.
Graduated in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College at Columbus State University.
Graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University

City Councilman, January 2016 - August 2024: Represented the community in policymaking and decision-making to enhance the well-being of Locust Grove residents.
Mayor Pro Tem, January 2017 - January 2022: Appointed by members of the City Council in the event of the Mayor's absence, ensuring seamless city governance and decision-making.

Criminal Investigator III (Probation Options Management Hearing Officer), July 2017 - Present: Conducts administrative hearings to address violations. Facilitates preliminary and probable cause hearings for Interstate Compact cases, performs audits, investigates violations, and provides specialized training.
Assistant Chief Community Supervision Officer, Dec 2015 - June 2017: Oversaw staff and caseloads, and conducted administrative hearings.
Community Supervision Officer III, July 2015 - Nov 2015: Supervised sex offenders, and ensure compliance with probation conditions and state laws.
Probation Officer II, Dec 2008 - June 2015: Supervised high-risk and mental health probationers, and enforced sentencing conditions.
